Still Waters Ministry

Still Waters Ministry

A great evil oppresses women and children in Egypt.  Due to extreme poverty, death of a parent, divorce, outright abandonment, and/or Common Law marriages, there are approximately 2,000,000 homeless children under the age of 16 years living on the streets in Egypt.

These “street children” are despised by Egyptian society, parents, the police, and business owners.  Abandoned to fend for themselves, they, obviously, struggle to survive each day.  A culture within a culture, a society in and of themselves, they are lorded over by violent, territorial gang leaders, who organize them by age and “job”.

  • Ages 1-5
    • Beg for money
    • The most sexually abused by the leaders

  • Ages 6-10
    • Sell goods
    • Have learned to accept the sexual abuse

  • Ages 11-15
    • Thieves and robbers
    • Prostitution
    • Bear children…the next generation of the street children society

The LORD has gripped our hearts at Calvary Chapel Ahwatukee with these homeless, orphaned, and unwanted children and discarded women. Still Waters Ministries is a walk of faith.  The enormity of the task is daunting…an entire nation has been opened up to the children of God to minister in Jesus’ name.  But the God Who opened the door is much bigger than the task.  He has set before us this open door and we are walking through it by faith.

Our vision, to glorify the Father of the fatherless, is to go in Jesus’ name to build and operate:

  • Children’s homes

We will love, feed, clothe, shelter, educate, disciple, and provide vocational

training to homeless, orphaned, and unwanted children.  We will then send them

as lights into the spiritual darkness cloaking Egypt.

We will start by ministering to homeless and orphaned Christian children

(Gal 6:10) and then reach out to Muslim children.

We will minister to both boys and girls in order to keep siblings together.

  • Women’s Shelters

We will give divorced and discarded women a safe and dignified home

and a path back into Egyptian society via education and vocational training.

  • Pastoral Training Center

We will love, encourage, and serve the Evangelical Church in Egypt.

We will pray with Evangelical Christians for a spiritual awakening in

Egypt.

We will equip evangelical pastors to teach and preach the Word of God

and to plant more churches.

In Isaiah 19:19-21, the Word of God promises that God will do a mighty work in Egypt in the end times.

In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a savior, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

His hand is upon Egypt right now.  The LORD hears the cry of the homeless children, the orphans, the street children, and the widows in Egypt.  He is collecting their tears in bottles and His answer is on the way!  The LORD has called us and those who come alongside us to be a small part of His answer.

How can you participate with Still Waters Ministries in the fulfillment of Isaiah 19:19-21?

  • Prayer/fasting Support:  The most important work, the Church’s God-given power against the god of this world who will fiercely resist EVERY step we take

  • Financial Support:  To maintain an administrative office in downtown Cairo, to buy land and build buildings for an orphanage, to operate the Women’s shelters

  • Moral Support:  To go on short-term missions to Egypt to minister to the children, women, pastors, and churches

We have been presented with an incredible opportunity to see the Almighty move in these last days.  I pray you will want to join us!
