Another Miracle

Another Miracle

For your prayerful consideration:

What next in Egypt

What happens next in Egypt?  Only the Lord knows…and He will show us in His timing.  At this point in time, for whatever it is worth (this and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks), I think the following are possible:

1.  More of the same

    On the one hand…
  • Nassar, Sadat, and Mubarak (Egyptian Presidents since 1952) have all been military men;  the military is currently in control and is deeply invested in the current “scheme of things.”
  • The Egyptian Army is highly respected by the people
  • Was the populist revolution an opportunity for new, stronger military men to shuffle the deck?
    But on the other hand…
  • The people spoke and have tasted the sweetness of their voice being heard and are expecting/demanding new freedoms…

2.  Open door for an Islamic republic

    On the one hand…
  • Does a new Government open a door for the very patient Islamic Brotherhood to set up an Islamic Republic (ala Iran) in Egypt?
  • Is 19:2 did not come to pass in this populist revolution

    But on the other hand…
  • Egyptian culture is very secular vs religious
  • Both Islam and Christianity are deeply entrenched in Egyptian culture
  • Egypt has 2000 years of Christian history and Christians will not simply roll over and go away;  they have endured the Sword of Islam for the past 1400 years so why would they give up now?

3.  Open door for the Church

    On the one hand…
  • the hope of the nation is in a new human government, a Government for the people (rather than the people for the Government, as has been the case for 60 years)

    On the other hand…
  • the new government will at some point fail to meet the expectations of the people;  man is not able to govern himself, man needs his Creator to govern him
  • the fresh breeze of new freedoms may foster an openness to “things Christian” as it did with the fall of the Soviet Union
  • the only hope for Egypt is Jesus Christ
  • this is the time of His visitation to the Muslims
  • Is 19:19-22 is a certainty in God’s perfect timing

Personally, I think the Lord is opening a door in Egypt, and perhaps all teetering Islamic nations.  I believe the Church must be ready to march behind the Captain of our Salvation to these people with the Gospel.  The interim Government in Egypt has already contacted us seeking assistance.  Hundreds of people were injured in the revolution in Egypt and Still Waters Ministries has been approached to help in comforting and encouraging these wounded.  We stand ready to help!  I believe that this is an indication that the work to be done in Egypt will be even greater than when we originally planned to go several weeks ago.

Conferences rescheduled

The conference at the land with the engineers has been rescheduled for March 28 – April 3.  Don and I will join the other leadership for that conference.

The Pastors/Leaders Conference in Alexandria will be rescheduled for the June/July timeframe, due to children’s school sessions.  Pastor Charley, Pastor Brad, and I will minister to Lord knows how many pastors and leaders!

Another miracle

The land (designated as agricultural land by the Government) is desert land, watered by wells.  The water in the area is salty:  not potable, very corrosive on irrigation systems, and generally unsuitable for agriculture. The parcels of land on both sides of us have drilled multiple wells and all the wells produce salty water.  In fact the reason our particular plot of land was being sold was because of the salty water rendering the land useless for agriculture.  We were informed by the seller of this issue when we investigated the land.  We took this issue of salty water to the Lord when we were praying about buying the land;  He told us to buy it.  Walking by faith, we did.

Once the fence was erected on the land, we began drilling a well.  The well on our land
  • was started and completed during the revolution
  • is producing FRESH WATER!
The water is very suitable for agriculture and is even potable!  We will still purify the water for drinking, but it is drinkable as is.  A miracle in the desert by our miracle-working God!  All glory be to Him!

Pray
  • God pours out the Holy Spirit upon the unbelievers in Egypt to convict them of their sin
  • God pours out the Holy Spirit upon the believers in Egypt to empower and embolden them for the opportunity before them
  • The Church’s readiness to march into Egypt
  • Wisdom, discernment, and spiritual sensitivity to follow the Lord in all He is doing thru Loving Hands
